Gary Goldstein Long Island Entrepreneur

Born in Brooklyn and moving to Oceanside Long Island as a young boy, Gary was taught by his parents the importance of responsibility and a strong work ethic.

From Humble Dawn
to Equestrian Entrepreneur

Gary Goldstein worked different odd jobs from waxing cars to raising rabbits. Since the beginning, he adored animals and had a passion for sports, which further encouraged him to pursue a career with the same enthusiasm until a friend took him to the stables. He realized that there was a business side to racing that he never knew of. He approached a trainer/driver named Real Cormier and asked him if he could learn to train horses? He worked for six months, not getting paid how to groom a race. Later on he became Real's assistant trainer until he passed the trainers test and started to train his own horses.

Gary has undoubtedly covered a long haul from an apprentice to a trainer. Then to achieving his dream of owning a horse farm which is located in Wellington, Florida. This farm is home to the Olympic equestrian dressage horses and trainers.

Gary, as a skilled trainer, competitor, and teacher became a renowned name in the horse racing industry. Specifically highlighting his involvement with notable horses like Justin Kin and Oolong. At three years old Oolong won the Hambletonian Oaks at the Meadowlands as well as the Breeders Crown in Canada, BECOMING THE 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLY OF THE YEAR, Justin Kin won many New York sires stake races as well and also setting track records at Yonkers Raceway and Goshen Historic Track.

In order to attain a distinction in this performance sport, Gary Goldstein deeply understood the encyclopedia of racehorses and their training. It is also evident throughout his career till date that horses welfare was always imperative for him. In fact, he ensured to take care of horses even after its retirement from the racing track. While keeping up with his love for horses, Gary contributed actively to his family’s retail business. It is not at all easy to make such a commendable career transition. But his mindset allowed him to flawlessly enter the competitive world of retail. With his parents as partners, he took Lonny's clothing stores- a women’s apparel and accessories retailer to a different height of success, He and his family opened Benneton Stores on Long Island as well as Brooklyn New York.

The Goldstein's also had the only Guess franchise clothing stores on the East Coast, known as MGA. Having different interests Gary was an investor in the restaurant chain, Black Tap, known for amazing burgers and incredible milk shakes.
